Vancouver Microneedling Treatments

Skin Matters offers Microneedling treatments at our Vancouver clinic to rejuvenate your skin. Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that utilizes a set of precision needles to encourage collagen and elastin production in your skin, leaving it firm and smooth, and glowing.

        What Is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a procedure that is minimally invasive and highly effective for addressing numerous concerns  in the skin. By using a pack of thin needles adjusted to your skin depth, the device will create tiny puncture wounds in the top layer of your skin. These wounds then stimulate your skin’s healing process to encourage the production of collagen and elastin - two proteins that keep your skin youthful and glowing. You can have Microneedling performed on your face and specific areas of the body, such as top of the hands, or decolletage, however the face is the most common treatment area.

What is a DP4™ Microneedling Pen?

The new DP4™ Microneedling Pen by Dermapenworld™ Clarion is a minimally invasive device to administer your Microneedling treatment. Skin Matters uses the DP4™ Microneedling Pen to help improve the appearance of major skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, skin texture, sun spots and age spots, stretch marks, enlarged pores, dilated capillaries, and more.

        How Does DP4™ Microneedling Work?

The DP4™ Microneedling Pen glides over the skin, creating millions of fine, vertical channels faster than other Microneedling pens. These channels can carry more topical nutrients deeper into the skin. The micro-injuries trigger a natural repair process, increasing collagen and elastin production and visibly improving a wide range of skin concerns. It is the only device in the world that can treat scars by safely achieving a 3mm depth into the skin.

It is best performed with the combination of one of the following treatment options:

        • NCTF® Boost 135 serum for hydration and glow.
        • Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) for optimal healing and repair.
        • DP4™ MG: Booster Series serums to specifically target your key concerns (acne & congestion, fine lines & wrinkles, hydration & radiance, hyperpigmentation, and scarring).

How to Prepare for Your Microneedling Treatment

To prepare for your Microneedling treatment, you should:

        • Cease using exfoliants (physical and chemical) such as AHA/BHAs and scrubs, as well as any/all retinoid/Vitamin A products for 2 weeks prior to treatment. Certain medications may be a contraindication to microneedling. This is best discussed with your treatment provider at Skin Matters.
        • Come to your treatment session with clean skin.

Aftercare & Recovery for Microneedling Treatments

Once your Microneedling treatment is finished, you can go home. Your skin may be slightly red or swollen for up to five days, but ice packs can help reduce irritation and discomfort. Stay out of the sun and avoid wearing makeup for 2-3 days until your skin fully heals. Retinoids/Vitamin A and exfoliants may be resumed 2 weeks post treatment.

        Microneedling FAQs

How often should you do microneedling treatments?

        Is microneedling painful?

Microneedling boasts little to no pain both during and after the treatment.
