Complexion Treatments in Vancouver

What Are Complexion Issues?
Your complexion encompasses the natural colour, texture, and overall appearance of the skin on your face. Naturally radiant complexions are described as those free from common skin concerns that many people face - like dark circles, acne scars, rosacea, and dryness.
Complexion issues can be caused by genetic, environmental, and/or age-related factors. No matter your age or the skin issues you’re experiencing, our knowledgeable and friendly team at Skin Matters can confidently identify what’s causing your complexion issues and recommend the best course of treatment for acne scarring, uneven skin texture, dull appearance, and more.
Are You a Candidate for Complexion Treatment?
You would benefit from complexion treatments at Skin Matters if you feel your skin doesn’t look healthy, feel smooth, or if you have acne scars, pigmentation issues, stretch marks, enlarged pores, and other common issues that affect facial skin. Complexion treatments work well to restore your skin’s youthful beauty and texture.
You may be a candidate for complexion treatments if you want to correct skin imperfections at a reputable skincare clinic that uses proven technology and high-performance products that safely and effectively encourage skin cell turnover.

How to Prepare for Complexion Treatment
As with any aesthetic procedure, it’s crucial to be prepared for your complexion treatment.
Please review the pre-treatment instructions we provide you with and let us know right away if you have any questions or concerns.
Some of these complexion treatments may require you to stop certain medications, skincare products, or supplements. Consult with your doctor if you have any questions about medication adherence.
In the days leading up to your complexion treatment, please limit your alcohol intake, and drink plenty of water so your skin is well-hydrated. We may also ask that you avoid harsh skincare products that could cause dryness, inflammation, and irritation, such as Retinol/retinoids, AHA/BHA exfoliants, and/or Vitamin C.
On the day of your treatment, wash your skin with a mild cleanser and avoid applying makeup or skincare products.
Again, please review the Pre-Treatment Care instructions provided to you and give us a call if you need additional guidance.
How Many Sessions of Complexion Treatment Do You Need?
At Skin Matters, we are committed to delivering exceptional results that rejuvenate your skin and refresh your appearance. In some cases, one complexion treatment session may be all you need. In other cases, you may need to return to Skin Matters for a series of treatments over the course of a few months or more to maintain your results. Remember, each person's complexion treatment is different, and individual results may vary.
We also want to mention that some of these treatments can be combined. If you choose to combine treatments, your doctor can give you a personalized timeline regarding recommended maintenance sessions.
Here's a general idea of how many treatment sessions you’ll need based on the treatment you decide to undergo:
Betaclear
The number of treatment sessions you’ll need depends on how well your acne, acne scarring or other complexion issues respond to the Betaclear treatment and, if applicable, the LED Light Therapy that we often recommend pairing with the serum. Typically, a series of 5-10 treatments is recommended.
Chemical Peel
You can get a chemical peel every 10-14 days if you receive a light to moderate-strength peel. Should you receive a medium to deep chemical peel, however, it’s best to wait at least 4-6 months before undergoing another peel given the strength of the ingredients.
Enlighten™ Laser
How many Enlighten™ Laser treatments you’ll need will depend on the specific skin issues you’re trying to remedy. You may need only a few sessions for mild acne scars, for instance, but if you’re trying to remove a large tattoo, more sessions will be necessary. Typically, a series of 6-8 treatments is recommended for skin complexion concerns.
EXO|E Exosomes™
The efficacy of Exosomes depends on the delivery method into the skin. Typically, we pair EXO:Exosomes with DP4 micro-needling, which would require a series of 4-6 treatments, or with Morpheus8 radio-frequency and microneedling, which would require 3-4 treatments. Annual maintenance treatments are recommended for both.
Juvéderm SkinVive
We typically recommend 1 to 2 sessions of Skinvive Micro-Droplet Therapy per year, depending on each individuals concerns and skin texture. Once you’ve achieved your desired results, they will be visible for 6-9 months, and you can retain your beautiful complexion by scheduling a maintenance session at least twice a year.
LED Light Therapy
In general, most patients benefit from 3-6 treatments of LED Light Therapy. Treatments that are close together and followed by regular maintenance sessions will maximize your results and promote their longevity.
Morpheus8™
We recommend undergoing 3 to 4 Morpheus8™ treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Your results can last up to one year or more, and maintenance sessions can be scheduled every 10-12 months.
PRP Therapy
The efficacy of PRP Therapy depends on the delivery method into the skin. Typically, we pair PRP Therapy with DP4 micro-needling, which would require a series of 4-6 treatments, or with Morpheus8 radio-frequency and microneedling, which would require 3-4 treatments. Annual maintenance treatments are recommended for both.
EXION RF Face
A series of 4-6 treatments is recommended for an initial treatment of EXION RF Face.
